Harlem Township Heritage is a non-profit community website that supports local volunteers in organizing free social events. We aim to enhance community spirit, foster connections, and provide enjoyable activities for families in the Harlem Township area.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
To create interest in Harlem Township, its historical past and natural surroundings through preservation, conservation, education and Harlem Township Heritage, Inc.’s specific objectives.
About the Group
Harlem Township Heritage, Inc. (HTH) is a community-based, volunteer-led organization located in Harlem Township, Delaware County, Ohio founded to:
Explore, document, and preserve the history, cultural resources, and natural environment of the township;
Organize and host educational events and activities in the community that preserve and foster an awareness of the history, cultural resources, and natural environment of the township;
Promote a sense of community in the township through these events and activities; and
Operate exclusively for charitable, educational, historic, and scientific purposes as specified in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code including, for such purposes, the making of contributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code as it now exists or as it may be hereafter amended.

Membership | Membership in HTH is open to anyone who supports the goals and objectives of this organization.
Membership is not limited to residents of Harlem Township. There are no membership dues. |
Meetings | Harlem Township Heritage meets on the second Thursday of each month in the Community Room of the firehouse unless otherwise announced. |

Officers | Harlem Township Heritage, Inc. elects officers for the following year at the annual meeting in October. Officers serve as members of the Board of Trustees. One non-office holding member is also elected to the Board of Trustees. |
Committees | In addition to the officers, Harlem Township Heritage also operates with several standing committees:
Events Committee – The Events Committee shall be responsible for planning and carrying out activities for community participation including Harlem Township Days.
Historical Committee - The Historical Committee shall be responsible for planning and carrying out events and activities for promoting interest in and preservation of Harlem Township’s historical heritage, including the annual Historical Presentation Meeting.
Additional committees may be appointed if needed. |

Amber Mitchell
Amber grew up in Harlem Township and still resides here. She also serves as the Market Manager for the Harlem TWP Community Farmers Market and currently works for the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association in the organic certification program.
Dave Snyder enjoys helping Harlem Township Heritage in putting on our events and activities. Dave is a professional archaeologist with the Ohio History Connection. He and his wife, Joni, have lived in the township for nearly 20 years.

Karin McKisson has been a resident of Harlem Township for more than 40 years. She raised two sons in the community, and has since retired from her long time position at a financial institution. Karin spends her newfound free time volunteering for the Township and enjoying life. This includes everything from competitive line dancing to attending craft shows. She also enjoys spending time with her grandchildren. Karin is looking forward to assisting the Township in a new way and hopes to get even more of the community involved.

Joni Manson records the minutes from meetings and enjoys taking photos of all of the activities Harlem Township Heritage brings to the community. She has been a member of the HTH group since work began for the Bicentennial and also serves on the township's Zoning Commission. Joni is a professional archaeologist with her own business. She and her husband, Dave, have lived in the township for nearly 30 years.
